Pink Rose V

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.  That's what I told myself this morning. Yesterday I painted and scraped from 9AM to 3PM. I couldn't figure out how to paint this pale pink rose. It mulled around in my head while I slept and when I awoke this morning I knew how to paint it. Instead of working the whole painting at once I started in the middle and worked outwards. I tried not to deviate since I had to compare values and colors. That's how I usually work, comparing one color spot to the next.

  1. Wow Robin, that's totally amazing. I must be the only woman who doesn't like roses, (it's just not my most favourite flower) but this painting is so beautifully executed. I love your tenacity and it's very inspiring to hear you painted and scraped for so long and still came back to it the next day. I wish I could be so patient! The values and colours are perfect. Thanks for your inspiration.

  2. The orange "color spots" work perfectly. They add such vibrancy to the painting (I hope that's spelled properly)!
