This is round one of my yearly attempt at painting the flowers from my Rose of Sharon bush. I wanted to explore a new color combination to get violet. I used Quinacridone Magenta and Phthalo Blue. It's a wonderful, vibrant color. Next time I hope to work on simplifying the form of the flower.
