Purple Cup and Lemons

I'm still painting lemons and looking at colors and values. Meanwhile, I've noticed that this is my 492nd blog post. That means I'm 8 away from my 500th post. It has been an amazing experience. I started by painting 100 small paintings before considering starting a blog. My goal was to paint a lot so that I'd become a better painter. These are some things that I've learned: I'm told I have a recognizable style, I'm familiar with my color palette, I'm confident I can work out problems and if not I can start again.  I'm able to pick myself up when I feel like my work is less than wonderful and still love to paint. Lastly, I really appreciate all the nice comments and support of people who have viewed my blog. Thank you.

  2. You have a style for sure and I love it. I have been thinking about artists and although we are all self critical I think as a group we are incredibly brave because we keep doing it. Year after year. There are easier ways to spend our time but we choose to do it because we love it and because it is hard.

  3. I think you're absolutely right about why we create art. We do it because we love it and because it's hard. It wouldn't be the same if it was easy. Thank you Jo and Marcela for your comments.
