End of the Year Wrap Up

Here's a study of Evening Sky and Marsh I did on gessoed paper. I put it in this frame and mat and my husband said, "Hey that looks good together", so it went up on my wall.

Another cigar box lid painting. This was a Debra Huse Laguna Beach Beckons - Pause & Paint Along Video. I've never painted water or oceans before so I thought it was a good tutorial. The outside edge of this painting will have a painted border that will match the cigar box.

Evening Sky and Marsh

 You might think I've gone very abstract and bonkers with this sky, and maybe a little. I've worked this painting over several days from a photo, and each time I think I got closer to the actual sunset. I love the complements of blue and orange, it's fun and it shows.

Evening Sky

 

Evening sky colors are beautiful. I don't know if I am able to capture them correctly. This is my 8th or 9th landscape painting. It's also my most abstract. Maybe going loose and abstract is what I like about painting the sky.
