It was this hat and the poem Hats by Glenis Redmond, which gave me the idea of painting them. I own a few, like a baseball cap, beret and a straw hat. But the hats I've chosen to paint I could not imagine wearing, but still enjoy looking at.
What a great series idea, Robin! I'm excited to see what's coming. I can really appreciate what you said about feeling better after discarding a project that just wasn't working for you. I've been there before and am there now - trying to force myself to finish when I'd rather move on, and still might! :) Anyway I had to tell you that I love this great new direction - so fun to see an artist working in fresh inspiration!

I am enjoying your hat series, Robin. I love the concept, and your paintings are just beautiful. Looking forward to seeing more. :)
ReplyDeletevery well combined colors to achieve the texture! : )
ReplyDeleteI love your hats also. I especially love the colors in this one. The purples and oranges...so vibrant. The unique shape is also appealing.
