Pale Rose

Roses have always been a thorn in my side. It could be I don't have a clear vision so I fuss and fuss.  Should I recite my mantra of "Simplify, Simplify, Simplify" as I paint or should I accept that they are complicated and move on?  On a brighter side, I had a goal of 100 paintings in 2012 and today I've reached it :)

  1. Congratulations on reaching your goal!

This is a beautiful rose. I love the subtle transition colors and the glow from within!

    Merry Christmas!

  2. Robin (you ) are being too hard on my friend Robin (you)
This rose looks great to me and I have been at the painting of roses for months. Many of mine have been too harsh. You achieved soft subtle color and rounded forms. Done and dusted and congratulations on 100 paintings. Is there a card for that at the drug store...oh no of course not we have to make our own......

  3. Congratulations on reaching your goal (and with time to spare)! I enjoy getting your email updates abd love the almost sculpural look you often achieve. This rose is a great example.
    Happy Winter Solstice!
