When I haven't painted in a while I like to create color charts. I do this to get back into the painting mindset. Today I created this color wheel based on a warm and cool of the three primary colors. The colors used were a mix of Cadmium Lemon Yellow and Cadmium Yellow Medium, then Cadmium Red Medium, Permanent Rose, Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue and White. The outside ring is the primaries, then tints of those colors and then complements of the tints. Generally, color wheels are created with the three primaries that tend not to lean, but I wanted to demonstrate how these colors work together. I like how they work and even their grayed-down complements are beautiful.
