Two Purple Eggplants

Here is another eggplant painting. I placed these two eggplants on scrap-booking paper and squeezed them in so they would fit into the square format of my canvas. It ended up looking like they were either in conversation or just enjoying each other's company.

Bunch of Bananas

The nice thing about painting fruits and vegetables is that you get to eat them after you're done painting. That's why I don't paint desserts very often, although I'm tempted.

Four Mushrooms

These mushrooms were fun and quick to paint. I liked the structural shape of them. They also seemed to work with the orange colored background.

Stacked Colored Cups

These three stacked cups were inspired by several of Karen O'Neil's paintings. As it turned out, my painting came out in my style even though I was influenced by her.

Always wanting to paint something better, I thought I'd paint these peppers again and add one more for good measure.

While vacationing in Florida last week I visited the Boca Raton Museum of Art. There I saw a film about the Barnes Foundation which was a private collection of Post-Impressionist paintings now or soon to be made public and scheduled to be relocated to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  I also saw an exhibit by Robert Vickery, a Magic-Realist painter. I'm not  really interested in this style of art but they were well painted. 

Orange Slices

Here is a painting I did at the end of last summer when I first began daily painting. I'm going on vacation for a few days. I'm not going to be able to paint but hopefully will be looking at art.

Leeks

Here are two leeks. I cut off the tops and just painted the bottoms. I liked the angular look of them so I made the ends and corners look sharper than they actually were. This may sound strange but the objects usually tell me how to paint them.

Eggplants on Checkered Cloth

I bought a couple of small eggplants to paint. I thought I'd give myself a new challenge. I really like the color of the eggplants against the orange background.

Halved Avocado

The original background on this picture was too busy so I simplified it. That usually works for me.

Apple and a Third on Blue Plate

This was a painting I did a while ago. It was the reflection of the apples on the glass plate that caught my eye.
