My oil painting workshop yesterday at Arlene’s Artist Materials in Albany, NY, was with several  talented students working on a value study followed by a "simplify brushwork" exercise.

Arlene's Artist Materials

You'll learn how to compose a painting, do a value study, learn paint mixing in order to produce beautiful colors, and how to simplify your brushwork. Demos, painting exercises and one-on-one attention will be provided. You'll be able to create a colorful still life and become a more confident painter in your chosen subject matter.

Preregistration is required to attend all classes and workshops at Arlene’s. Space is limited so please register soon. Click the Arlene's link above to register online. Otherwise, please come into the store, at 57 Fuller Rd Albany NY, or call us, (518) 482-8881, to reserve your spA supply list will be provided upon registration and supplies are not included in the cost of the workshop.

Please note that our classes are typically held in the lower level of Arlene's. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.ace.

Part of being an Oakroom Artist member is to commit to a show every two to two and a half years.

These works have been put aside until now for this show.
