Happy Cows Cigar Box

 
 

So much fun painting on cigar box lids. I've learned a lot about shapes and colors of varied skies, clouds and colors of simplified backgrounds and foregrounds. 

Clouds and Lake

I've been working on painting clouds within a landscape. Previously clouds were just a slash of white across the sky.  I'm getting the hang of large cumulus clouds. I'm happy with this composition. According to John Carlson, the sky is the key to the landscape and it's the most fun for me. An object helps draw the eye into the scene. Today it's a canoe with a sail.
