An artist friend suggested I paint large those things I usually paint small, as opposed to filling the canvas with more objects. I suppose she meant like Janet Fish's large fruit, vegetable and bottle paintings. Those single object (or multiples of a single object) paintings are the ones I love. I base coated my canvas with pyrrole red acrylic paint, wow. I painted until I couldn't figure out what to do next and I lost my place, so I quit for today. This should be a fun challenge.

I love your start on this. How large is this painting? This has a nice structural feel to it.
ReplyDeleteReally large to me is 24 x 24 in. Thanks for your nice comment.
DeleteNice to see you try painting larger, and I think it is a good idea to make things bigger. Looking forward to see the finished painting.
ReplyDeleteThanks Roger. :)
